Fragrance inspired by Libre by Yves Saint Laurent
Released in 2019 by perfumers Anne Flipo and Carlos Benaïm, Libre fuses French lavender with Moroccan orange blossom — freedom bottled.
The concept echoes YSL’s motto “I am my own freedom”: bold lavender wrapped in creamy florals and sweet vanilla.
Libre is a floral-fougère fragrance for women (2019). Sparkling mandarin and lavender lead into lush orange blossom and jasmine, melting into vanilla and cedar for a modern, powerful trail.
The opening pops with lavender, mandarin and blackcurrant. The heart unveils orange blossom, jasmine sambac and another wave of lavender. The dry-down glows with Madagascar vanilla, cedar and ambroxan.
First comes fresh, almost masculine lavender; minutes later it softens into a silky floral cloud. Finally, sweet woody vanilla lingers up to 8 hours.
Longevity is medium-high: effortless from workday to night-out.
